Dates have been set for the major, annual activities of the St. David's Society of MN through July of 2012. Mark your calendar!

    St. David's Day Banquet 2012

    The St. David's Day Banquet for 2012 will be held on Friday evening, March 3rd and Saturday, March 4th at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, 1330 Industrial Blvd., Minneapolis, MN 55413, (612)331-1900. The deadline for registrations is February 24, 2012. Room reservations should be made directly with the hotel, and no later than February 23rd, to get the discounted rate of $89/night - remember to let the hotel staff know you are with the St. David's Society when you reserve, to get the special rate.

    To register for the Friday evening program and Saturday banquet, print and mail the Reservation Form that was included in the January 2012 newsletter, along with your check, to Pam Rose.

    Friday evening's program begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the Itasca Room of the hotel, and features member Trilby Busch, presenting her new book, "Darkness Visible: A Novel of the 1892 Homestead Strike".

    Saturday's banquet begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Itasca Room, and lunch will be served at 12:15.

    Minneapolis Chosen to Host 2014 North American Festival of Wales

    In September 2011, the Board of the Welsh National Gymanfa Ganu Association voted to select Minneapolis as the host city for the 2014 NAFOW. The event will be held August 28 through 31, 2014. Westminster Presbyterian Church in downtown Minneapolis will be the site for the Sunday service and the Gymanfa sessions. The selection of a host hotel will be announced in the near future.
